Communications & Media Manager
Maternity Replacement

Literacy in Action (LIA) is a not-for-profit volunteer-oriented organization that promotes adult literacy and lifelong learning. LIA designs, delivers, and supports free community-based programs and direct services. Our activities build on core literacy skills and provide hands-on learning opportunities for English-speaking adults and their families in the Estrie region of Quebec.


The Communications & Media Manager is responsible for the content design and dissemination of LIA’s publicity and online communications. They are self-driven, creative, collaborative, and motivated to learn new tools and strategies. 



  • Training: December 6-15

  • Contract Term: January 10, 2024 - June 28, 2024 

  • 21 hours / week

  • Salary: $20.00 / hour 

  • Three-month probation period

Examples of tasks:

  • Design print & digital media (posters, videos, & flyers) for our activities and services

  • Collaborate with team to plan and implement marketing strategies

  • Update and maintain LIA content on our website and social media platforms

  • Disseminate upcoming events and programs to the local newspaper and radio stations

Training or experience with:

  • Canva

  • Wix

  • Mailchimp

  • Airtable

  • Video editing

  • Graphic design & layout

  • Various social media platforms (Facebook & Instagram in particular)


Background and/or interest in:

  • Marketing

  • Public relations

  • Rural and urban English-speaking communities
